Accounts payable audits only help if both sides know the sequence. This page is the map we follow for cycle audits and shorter reviews alike.

Step 01

Brief and conflict check

You describe volume, entities, systems, and timing. We confirm we are free of conflicts with your external auditor or competing groups, then reply with a scoped outline and fee.

Step 02

Document request

A short list covers vendor master extract, invoice and payment listings, approval matrices, and access instructions. We flag gaps before arriving on site so clerks are not ambushed.

Step 03

Planning memo

Sample sizes, periods, and locations are agreed in writing. If your archive is split between Central and a New Territories warehouse, we schedule travel days up front.

Step 04

Fieldwork

Walkthroughs with AP and purchasing, then voucher testing. We raise likely exceptions during the week — not only on the last afternoon — so your team can pull missing papers.

Step 05

Draft findings

You receive an exception schedule for factual review. Challenge is welcome; silent disagreements that surface in the board pack are not.

Step 06

Final memo and close-out

We issue the final document and hold a closing discussion (about 90 minutes). Remediation tracking stays with your team unless you commission a follow-up visit.

Timing cues

Month-end and Lunar New Year weeks are poor fieldwork windows for most clients. Tell us your close calendar early; we will propose quieter fortnights.

Start with a brief

Request an audit brief or browse engagement options if you are still choosing between a full cycle audit and a narrower review.
